Changing my major from Mechanical Engineering?

Hi all I'm three years into a Mechanical engineering degree at a major institution in North Carolina but I'm not sure if I'm cut out for it. There is one math course which happens to be my last math course that is giving me major problems and I trying to explore my options. Any comments are welcome, what should I do.

Usually around 3rd year, students start to realize they either

A. Really like the work, and can see themselves in that profession or

B. Change their major.

Sadly, it's hard to know in your first two years whether that field is right for you. But, it sounds like you may like the work, and not just like one of hte Math courses you have to take. If that's the case, get a tutor, or take it from a different professor. But, if you've discovered Mechanical Engineering isn't for you, this is the time to change your major. Whether you go into another field of Engineering (Civil, Biomedical, Electrical, etc) or change to another related field (Any Science or Mathematics related major), or go for something completely different (Business, Education, etc), you should be find changing your major in your junior year.

You can %26quot;drop down%26quot; to Mechanical Engineering Technology. Similar to Mechanical Engineering, with with less math.

I think you should get a tutor and stick it out =] Your almost done, dont give up on it. The more help you get, the more you will learn and the easier it will become in the future! It is an area of study that is very useful and helpful in todays world. Good luck!!
You would be wasting a lot of money changing majors now.

Besides, you have gone to college to learn, have you not? I suggest that you either talk to your professor or find a tutor.
