So I am currently in my first year at college and am a mechanincal engineer. However, I was thinking of doing chemical engineer and changed up my courses a lil bit. And finally, I am deciding to switch to civil engineer, which would put me back a lil bit... I just feel guilty for constantly changing my mind since i will most likely being going to school for 5 years instead of 4 :/ thanks
Should I feel guilty for changing majors?
No, of course not. Well over half of all students change their major at least once, and many change it twice.
Furthermore, taking 5 years is quite common, especially for people who switched majors. It's not like you're taking longer because you failed your courses, it's just because you decided you wanted something different for yourself.
If you really feel guilty, then you can get a part-time job. Just be careful, since it will be hard to stay on top of Engineering classes while working and school has to come first.

Just promise to pay back your parent when you start working and keep your promise.
