How do you go about changing your college major?

I am a h.s senior and i recently had a change of heart in what i wanted to do. How do you go about the process? Is it possible to change it before you start? will it change the decision about my admission. I have already planned to go to UIC
How do you go about changing your college major?
It depends on whether the new major is within the same college or not. For example, if you were Bio and you want to do English now - it's a straightforward process that you can do after you start classes. If you want to change Colleges, however, for example from Liberal Arts and Sciences to Architecture, or similar, then you should call the office of admissions BEFORE the application deadline - 312.996.4350, or, depending on the program it might be more difficult. In particular for Art and Design and Architecture.

Wait till you register for classes.. It will probably be at orientation..You will most likely have a chance to meet with an advisor..they can change your declared major... Admissions never expects students to have their major set in stone so don't worry about it. Many students change their minds all the way until their Junior/senior year.
Usually there is just a form that you have to fill out and submit to the school. You should check the school's website!
Wait until you've been admitted. You have to fill out a change of major form. State your GPA, college year, name, your current major, and that is it, I believe.
