Should i reconsider being a history major?
you should major in what you want to major in, what is interesting to you, and what you will be happy with studying. i was an english major and a history minor and i can say that i would have killed myself if i had had to take business courses or a ton of math or something because that does not interest me at all. i have gone onto a successful job with the government and am planning on going to a top 10 law school in the fall AND i scored higher than all the people i know that were pre-law because english and history served as such a strong basis for critical thinking. trust me, you will be happy you majored in it, if you truly love the subject, if not then reconsider.

There is always Law school and to be quite honest there are plenty of jobs out there that don't care what you major in college in - they just care that you have a diploma.
Good Luck (from a former poly sci/history major)!!!
All the people that I know who were history majors and did not go on to teach never found fulfilling jobs. They work at either an office as a secretary or at the same job they did while attending college. It's an okay degree to have to go on to law school, but if that is your plan I would switch to English or Philosophy where there is more writing and critical thinking involved.
International relations/business would be a good option. You would encounter all the above things mentioned, and you can specialise in whatsoever you choose. This, however, might mean that you would need to transfer to your school's school of business.
