During your undergraduate years, get good grades in most everything, to keep a 3.5+ GPA. You'll need a Bachelor's degree in any field in the humanities or social sciences, so you can get into graduate school. To teach high school Psychology, you'll need a high school teaching credential.

Do counseling volunteer work, to be sure you *like* counseling, before you go to all the trouble of getting a Ph.D. in it!!

After your Bachelor's, take the %26quot;5th year%26quot; requirements, like Using Computers in the Classroom and your state's History, to get your education for the teaching credential. Then take the test, to get the high school teaching credential. Skip this if you want to teach in college.

Take the GRE test, to get into grad. school.

A lot of counseling psych. programs now, go from Bachelor's straight to Ph.D., with just a Master's stuck in the middle, for a 5-year program. That is the easiest %26amp; cheapest way to go. Get into one of those programs, and get your Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology. Then you can do the hours required, or take the tests, to get licensed in your state, to practice as a private practitioner, OR you can just teach with your Ph. D. !

Good luck!

All this is fine, but good communication is vital in psychology. You seem to have only one sentence for all your thoughts.

Improving on communication is one, seriously. All the best!
And how do you feel about that?
Well, if you want to teach high school psychology, (depending on what state you're in) you will most likely only need a Bachelor's in Psychology and a teaching certificate. If you want to counsel, maybe you should become a counselor, not a psychologist. You would get a Bachelor's in psychology and then go to grad school to either be a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMH) a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) or a Marriage and Family Therapist (MFT). All of these require a Master's degree. A psychologist has a PhD and is qualified to teach at colleges, and counsel people. Most psychologist don't counsel though, they do research. Typically counselors counsel...you have some research to do and decisions to make.
oh just shut up im in middle school i dont even know what that is.. gosh....................... rude
Yay! Psych Majors for the win!! High Five! Good luck and best wishes!
I agree with Boss, communication is vital for psychology and teaching.

So maybe study communication as well.

Good luck with whatever you choose to study!
