What are the biggest obstacles to overcome when implementing a major change inside an organization?

What strategies can be used to overcome them?
What are the biggest obstacles to overcome when implementing a major change inside an organization?
Don't let the organization tear itself apart. I think the biggest obstacle comes from the inside. Some people don't like change, so they will fight you tooth and nail to keep things the way they are. That can cause a big rift, but in order for an organization to keep running smoothly, everybody has to be working together.

I think it would be useful for someone to tell everyone in the organization that it is time for change, and allow for a question and answer session - just make sure that it does not become a heated debate. It is hard, but I've been through it a few times, and once I was the implementor of change, so I feel your concerns.

Try to get everyone on the same page and understand why this change must occur. Good luck!
What are the biggest obstacles to overcome when implementing a major change inside an organization?
The people are the biggest obstacles, especially those employees who have been in the organization for a number of years, and are reluctant to change, or feel threatened by major overhauls. In order to counteract this fear, there should be plenty of preparation and reassurance that even if they are reassigned to another position within the company, and have to learn new skills, that help and guidance will be available, and that they are not going to lose their jobs. If they no longer feel threatened, they will be more amenable to any changes that occur.
