How come the people don't get a vote on a major change in who is in charge of health care.?

This is probably just the first of many bills that we will have no voice in, I'm afraid. As important as the health care bill is we have no voice.
How come the people don't get a vote on a major change in who is in charge of health care.?
Wouldn't that be nice! I wish the government had to put these issues to the people like in local communites when it comes to bond issues and such.
How come the people don't get a vote on a major change in who is in charge of health care.?
because obama is all about silencing the people.
Cuz Obama is a bad President and such things probably don't cross his mind!
Simply that we do not live in a Democracy (where each and every law, rule etc would be voted on by everyone). We live in a country where we elect officials that then are charged with doing the will of their constituents, the problem is once elected a lot become drunk with power or their ego takes over and they do as they please disregarding what we the people want.
That vote was last November. Did you miss it?
Okay.

One more time.

It is not possible.

The United States Constitution does not permit a national referendum on ANY subject.

In order to do what you want, you would have to convince a member of Congress to introduce a Constitutional Amendment, then convince 2/3 of Congress, the president, and 38 of the state legislatures to approve the amendment.

THEN you would have to get your particular referendum on the ballot according to the procedures which would be defined in the amendment.

That would take $millions$ and about 10 years of serious community organizing.

Have at it.
BECAUSE THE LIBERALS BELIEVE THEY KNOW WHAT IS BEST FOR US
You do, and you did, last year. Obama won the elections where people had that say.

FACT - Insurance companies in the USA admit to pushing up prices, buying politicians and not paying out claims when they should [1]

FACT - PER PERSON the USA spends more on healthcare than any other nation on the planet [2]

FACT - Obama debated his plans before the election for healthcare [3]

FACT - the chance of a child under five of dying in the USA is greater than industrialised nations with universal health coverage [4]

FACT - Obama was elected by the American people to bring in change [5]

FACT - Obama wants to stop insurance companies from screwing American [6]

FACT - The reforms Obama wants work in the Netherlands and Switzerland [7]

Let me know if my facts are wrong, but please provide proof.
