How hard is it to change major for a freshman trying to go from Chemical Engineering to Comp Science at UC?

It depends. Computer Science, by itself, is not within the engineering department but computer science with electrical engineering (a special subset of electrical engineering) is within the engineering department. Computer Science transfer should be easier (the major is typical easier) than computer science and electrical engineering which (at my school - UC Davis) has a higher COLLEGE gpa criteria (%26gt; = 3.0 ) that must be meet before they let you into the major. For inter-engineering transfer you need to go to engineering office advisor (they can do it all for you) and for transfer between differnt departments you need to go to the registar's office, get some paper worked signed and then approved by your new department's dean. In neither case do they ever look at your high school gpa or SATs or letter of rec. Do yourself a favor, and transfer to computer science not electrical engineering with computer science (called cs and double e) which is much tougher than pure computer science.

It usually involves going to your registrar's office and filling out a new application and paying a fee..

yea...but then when they look at your new application...are they going to review everything..like your high school transcript ans SATs.....if u kno the answer plz tell me, i really need to kno this.........thank you
Ref's concern about taking SAT's and all of that college entrance red tape is wrong. You can transfer from one school to another. You can also change majors just as easy.
