Is it possible to be an athletic trainer even if you major at another thing?

Hi Im a student in the west coast who wants to be an athletic trainer but the problem is that my school does not offer athletic training as a major. They dont have the programs for it.But they do offer some interships with some classes on the side. Im a student who is majoring in Biology but im thinking of changing my major to Chicano/Latino studies. But I wanted to if it is possible to be an athletic trainer even though im not majoring in it. Any suggestions?

Some gyms like Bally's hire fitness trainers.... maybe you can start off doing that and work your way up by gaining more knowledge and experience to become an athletic trainer (if there is a difference).



But, it's always a good idea, especially when it comes to dealing with people's body and health to have some sort of formal education.
